Slow Cooker Beef Madras

Our Slow Cooker Beef Madras is a rich, aromatic dish that combines tender stewing beef and fragrant spices to create a hearty, protein-packed meal that supports balanced eating and sustained energy—and with just three simple steps, it’s an effortless way to enjoy a deeply satisfying, restaurant-quality curry at home—enjoy!

Ingredients

20 oz. stewing beef, cubed
2½ cup basmati rice, cooked
2 cup beef broth
1 cup tomato purée
1 cup yellow onion, chopped
2½ tbsp. garlic, grated
3 tbsp. curry powder
2 tbsp. tomato paste

5 tsp. ghee
2 tsp. lemon juice
1¼ tsp. ginger, grated
1 tsp. cinnamon powder
2 bay leaves
Pinch of pepper
Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. In the slow cooker, stir together the beef cubes, onion, garlic, ginger, beef broth, tomato purée, tomato paste, curry paste, ghee, lemon juice, cinnamon powder, bay leaves, salt, and pepper.

2. Once everything but the rice is combined in the slow cooker, put the lid on it and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours.

3. After that time, serve the cooked and tender beef madras over basmati rice, and enjoy!

Tip

Store the cooked beef madras in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to 7 days to meal prep this recipe. When ready to enjoy, simply remove one serving of the beef madras from the container, place it on a half cup of cooked rice, and warm it up in the microwave for a few minutes.
