Yummy Yam Fries Recipe with Horseradish Dip

Serves 2.

One serving = 1 Starch, ½ Fat, 1 Extra


1 cup yams
1 tsp olive oil
Cayenne pepper to taste
Salt-free seasoning to taste

Dip Ingredients

2 oz. yogurt (fat-free, plain)*
1 tsp mayonnaise (fat-free)*
1 tsp horseradish (or to taste)


Peel yams and chop into wedges. Toss yams with olive oil and sprinkle with spices of your choice. Evenly space yams on a baking sheet. Bake at 350°F for 30 to 40 minutes, until yams are soft inside, flipping halfway through. Combine last three ingredients for horseradish dip.

*For the vegan version, use rice or soy yogurt and omit mayonnaise, or use
a dairy-free, egg-free mayonnaise.
