Tuna Bites Recipe
One serving = 1 Protein, 1 Starch, ¼ Vegetable, 1 Fat, ½ Free Exchange
4 tsp margarine (soft, light, non-hydrogenated)
8 slices bread (low-calorie/diet), crusts removed
16 oz. canned tuna (water-packed), drained
1 cup onion, finely diced
4 Tbsp ranch dressing (fat-free)
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spread margarine on bread. Press bread slices (crusts removed) into a muffin tin with margarine side down.
Bake for 10 minutes.
Combine tuna, onion and ranch dressing. Spoon into bread cups. Bake until hot.
- Use non-hydrogenated margarine made from olive or canola oil to improve overall cholesterol.
- Use whole wheat bread for more fibre to help you stay full longer.
