Homemade Hot Chocolate

This Homemade Hot Chocolate recipe will warm your tummy and soul this Holiday Season, so enjoy it after dinner or anytime you need a little warmth — cheers!

Ingredients

4 cup milk, 2% or 1%
½ cup chocolate chips
¼ cup cocoa powder

¼ cup granulated sugar
¼ tsp. vanilla extract
4 cinnamon sticks

Instructions

1. Heat milk, cocoa powder, and sugar over medium-low heat in a pot, stirring frequently.

2. Once milk mixture is warm, but not boiling, add chocolate chips and stir continuously until they melt, approximately 3 to 5 minutes.

3. Once you have your hot chocolate, add in the vanilla extract, stirring to combine for a couple of minutes.

4. Then serve your hot chocolate in your favourite mugs, with a cinnamon stick, and enjoy!

Tip

Replace the vanilla extract with peppermint extract to make this hot chocolate even more festive!
