Ingredients

2 lbs. apples, peeled & sliced
1 cup rolled oats
½ cup almond flour
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ cup maple syrup
¼ cup butter, melted

1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tbsp. arrowroot powder
2 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. nutmeg
¼ tsp. salt
Non-stick cooking spray

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350ºF and spray a 9-inch pie plate or 8×8-inch square baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.

2. In a large bowl, mix together apples, maple syrup, lemon juice, arrowroot powder, half of the cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

3. In another bowl, combine rolled oats, almond flour, brown sugar, butter, and the rest of the cinnamon.

4. Pour the apple mixture on the bottom of the baking dish and sprinkle the rolled oats mixture on top of the apples, as evenly as possible.

5. Once the oven's hot, place the baking dish in the oven for 40 to 50 minutes.

6. After that time, remove the baking dish from the oven and let cool for 3 to 6 minutes.

7. Once cool, serve the crisp, and enjoy!

Tip

Add 4 tablespoons of light whipped cream, per serving, to the crisp for some extra creaminess, which would add 1 Extra to the allotments.
