Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies

This Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe is the perfect treat to feed your sweet tooth, and has a little Canadian maple syrup twist — enjoy!

Ingredients

1 cup flour
¾ cup brown sugar
½ cup rolled oats
½ cup chocolate chips
4 tbsp. butter, melted

3 tbsp. maple syrup
2 tsp. vanilla extract
¼ tsp. baking soda
1 large egg, room temperature
Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350ᵒF and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Combine flour, oats, baking soda, and salt in a food processor until finely ground.

3. In a large bowl, mix sugar, butter, and maple syrup together with a hand blender or in a stand mixer.

4. Add the eggs and extract to the large bowl and continue mixing with electric mixer.

5. Slowly and gradually, add the flour mixture to the large bowl of liquids, combining until everything is connected.

6. Once you have your cookie dough, use a tablespoon to spoon out similar size balls of dough, placing them on the lined baking sheet.

7. Once your baking sheet is full, about 12 cookies, place it in the fridge for 30-minutes.

8. Once chilled, transfer them to the oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes.

9. Once baked, let those cookies cool and start steps 6 to 8 with the second half of the dough.

10. Once all cookies are baked, serve, and enjoy!

Tip

These cookies go well with a glass of milk! If you try 250 milliliters of skim milk with these cookies, add 1 Dairy allotment per serving.
